Former Warren coach investigated for alleged relationship with student-athlete

WARREN, Ohio - Police are investigating allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a former coach and a Warren City School student.
According to a police report, an officer learned of the allegation involving a girl at Harding High School. The alleged turned 16 earlier this month.
According to the report, the alleged sexual battery complaint was already under investigation by a city police detective.
Responding to an inquiry from 21 News, Superintendent Steven Chiaro said that on March 10, an allegation was made of an inappropriate relationship between a former coach in the district and a student-athlete.
Chiaro, who says the alleged conduct took place during the prior school year, added that the individual worked for the schools on a supplemental athletic coaching contract and is not a current employee.
According to the superintendent, the information has been turned over to the police and remains under investigation.
Chiaro did not provide the name of the coach, nor the sport involved.
