Columbiana County Sheriff investigates homicide in Hanover Township
Emergency crews, including police and BCI, were called out to a home on Depot Road in Hanover Township.
The call came in at about noon on Friday. Shortly after crews began shutting down a portion of the road near the 8000 block.
As of 5:30 p.m. Friday, the road is now back open.
According to Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin, a woman was killed outside of her home and the family found the woman on the porch.
"We received a call from a family member upon them finding the decedent on the porch of her residence here," said Sheriff McLaughlin to 21 News.
Police have not yet released the victim's name or cause death.
"Initially, they had called for an ambulance and once the first responders got here, they realized it was more than just a medical issue, it was actually a homicide," Sheriff McLaughlin added.
The sheriff says they do have a "suspect in mind" and says that suspect did personally know the victim.
