Drivers on their morning commute along East State Street in Hermitage may be wondering why fire trucks rushed to a business Tuesday morning.

Workers at the Rite Aid on the corner of North Crescent Drive evacuated the store just before 7:30 a.m. when they smelled smoke.

The employees told dispatchers the smoke was also inside the Warren Glass & Paint business next door, which wasn’t scheduled to open until 8 a.m.

Firefighters were seen on the roof of the building.

21 News is working to find out more about what caused the smoke and if anyone has been injured.
