Two courageous young women helped pull an 88 year old woman from a burning house. It happened on Rupple Road in Weathersfield about 1:30 Tuesday morning.

The homeowner, Vivian Beech, tried crawling out of a back door when the fire erupted. They young heroes, Jaclyn and Jayden Stamos were passing by when they saw the flames.

The Stamos' sprung into action, knocking on doors to wake other neighbors and call for help. They ran toward the torched residence after hearing screams.

The Stamos' found Beech while she was crawling and proceeded to transport her as far away from the blaze as possible, by carrying her into a wooded area behind the home.

"I just bolted. I needed to get her out of there and make sure she was safe," said Jaclyn.

"We did as much as we could to pull her and make sure she wasn't hurt," said Jayden.

The smoke and flames made it nearly impossible to escape unscathed.

"I sprained my leg, along with my foot and a little bit of smoke in my lungs," Jayden said.

The house is completely destroyed and family friends tell 21 News Beech will be devastated at the damages, but they're just grateful she escaped with her life.

"I was just here yesterday, brought lunch down to her, we had lunch and yeah it's, terrified but I'm glad she's OK," said Cary Miller, a friend of Beech's.

Beech was not burned and could be released from the hospital as soon as tomorrow. The cause of the fire is still currently under investigation.
