Mercer County, Pa. - A Grove City man is facing dozens of charges after more than 30 animals were found dead in Mercer County.

54-year-old Phillip Schaefer faces 145 charges ranging from animal cruelty, neglect of animals and aggravated animal cruelty.

The charges stem from an investigation that happened earlier this month. That investigation led to the discovery of emaciated dogs, goats, chickens and other dead animals on a property being rented to Schaefer.

He is scheduled to appear in court near the end of May.
