Golden Dawn restaurant reopening Friday with Penguin City beer on its menu

In just four days a popular north side restaurant and bar will be back open for business with more local fare than ever added to its menu.
Golden Dawn Restaurant announced on social media that its location on Logan Avenue in Youngstown will reopen, five years after closing its doors.
"Cloudy no more! To the dawn of a new day, Youngstown’s Best Kept Secret! See you Friday," the restaurant said in a Facebook announcement that has since gotten hundreds of likes and comments.
And the menu promises to be focused on Youngstown. Penguin City beer announced it will serve products at Golden Dawn when the eatery reopens its doors Friday afternoon.
Golden Dawn owner Johnny Naples Sr. says the restaurant was approved for final opening inspections earlier in March. Naples had been anticipating the April 1 reopening date for at least the last two weeks when Golden Dawn made that confirmation.
Naples won an auction in 2019 where he was able to acquire the restaurant for $137,500. Naples' father Ralph Naples was the original owner of Golden Dawn.
After purchasing the restaurant, Naples told 21 News he planned to renovate and reopen by October 2019. The pandemic haulted those plans, but gave Golden Dawn more time to prepare. The restaurant had been holding open job interviews for prospective workers since Fall 2021.
Golden Dawn will officially reopen this Friday afternoon, April 1.
