A wanted fugitive from Cambria County in Pennsylvania was arrested in Youngstown by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Tuesday morning.

David Springer was wanted on multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, Strangulation and Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another.

These charges stem from an incident in which Springer allegedly physically assaulted a female causing her potentially life-threatening injuries.

Members of the task force received info stating that Springer had fled Pennsylvania in a stolen truck with Texas license plates.

The vehicle was located at a business on North Canfield-Niles Road in Youngstown. Task Force members arrested Springer, who was found sleeping in the back of the truck.

Springer was taken to the Mahoning County Jail and will be housed there until he can be extradited back to Cambria County for his pending case.

Springer is a convicted sex offender with requirements to register in Pennsylvania. His arrest in Ohio could possibly violate his sex offender registry terms.

Further charges from the United State Attorney's Office are currently being reviewed.
