Every Rite Aid pharmacy location in Ohio will give a second booster shot of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna to those eligible.

The announcement comes after the CDC and FDA approved for Americans 50-years and older to receive another booster. Certain immunocompromised people ages 12 and older can also get another dose.

Patients must have received their first booster four months prior to a second shot. Rite Aid officials say eligible adults who received a primary vaccine and booster dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least four months ago can also receive a second booster dose using an mRNA vaccine.

Anyone meeting the criteria to get a second booster shot can get one at a Rite Aid location even if they received other doses somewhere else, pharmacy officials said.

Rite Aid says patients can walk-in or schedule an appointment at www.riteaid.com/pharmacy/scheduler.

Flu and other vaccines can be scheduled too.
