Trumbull County Tourism Bureau awarded $80,000 grant

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced on Thursday that the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded an $80,000 grant to the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau.
The funds will be used to fund the Trumbull County Regional Tourism Strategic Recovery Plan, which aims to develop strategies for tourism development and competitiveness for five cities, six villages and 24 townships in Ohio.
This plan will increase employment opportunities, save jobs, spur private investment and advance economic resiliency throughout the region.
Senator Brown says the tourism industry was hit hard during the pandemic, but investments like this will help Valley communities increase tourism, create jobs and bolster the economy.
"Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, tourism bureaus like Trumbull County's will be able to continue supporting local businesses and workers, and grow local tourism industries," Brown said.
Brown sent a letter to the EDA to encourage them to support the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau's application for funding in January.
