The City of Sharon has announced on Thursday the First Annual Shenango Riverfront Fireworks Celebration taking place during Independence Day weekend 2022.

The event will be held on July 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will feature a 20-minute firework show after dusk courtesy of Pyrotecnico.

It is one of several events to be put on in Sharon as the downtown development team starts to execute their plans for business attraction, retention and event coordination for the downtown business district.

"We are excited to kick off this new event that puts focus on Sharon's downtown and their riverfront, along with partnering with Quaker Steak & Lube, which is historically known for putting on citywide events in downtown Sharon," said City Manager, Bob Fiscus.

The event will sync up with the opening of Moe's Walkway along with the riverfront near Quaker Steak & Lube. A special pop-up market will be located here during the fireworks event.

Sharon's Downtown Events Coordinator, Courtney Cilli says the market will feature artisan crafts and food.

"The event is the perfect one to enjoy on the city's riverfront," Cilli said.

In addition to the fireworks and pop-up market, there will also be live music, as well as activities for children and a food truck rally on Chestnut Street behind Cycle Life Studio and Evolve
