Report: Trump denied permission for rally at Portage County fairgrounds

KENT, Ohio - Former President Donald Trump has been denied permission to hold a rally at the Portage County fairgrounds, according to a report in the Record Courier.
The Kent, Ohio based newspaper is reporting that Portage County Commissioners say Trump but was turned down by the volunteer board that runs the property in Randolph property, Portage County commissioners said.
The fairground property is about thirteen miles west of Mahoning County.
According to the story, Portage County Commissioner Tony Badalamenti said he spoke with Secretary of State Frank LaRose and members of Trump's advance team about holding an April 24 at the fairgrounds.
The callers said a representative of the fair board gave several reasons why the rally could not be held, according to the newspaper which reports that fair board members did not return phone calls.
