Thousands of residents across eight townships in Mahoning County are navigating their Saturday afternoons without any electricity.

First Energy reports that over 2,700 residents throughout the county will not have power until at least 2:30 p.m. Saturday. People in Beaver Township, Boardman Township, Lowellville, New Middletown, Poland, Poland Township, Springfield Township and Youngstown are all impacted. 

The outage might be at its worst in New Middletown where over 82% of residents are without power, according to First Energy.

No word yet on what caused the outage. 

First Energy is actively investigating and working to restore power for Mahoning County residents.
