Canfield physician jailed on menacing, terroristic threat charges

CANFIELD, Ohio - A former Mercy Health doctor was booked into the Mahoning County jail Tuesday on several criminal charges.
Ali Kooshkabadi, 39, of Canfield faces charges stemming from two April 2, 2022 incidents in Canfield and Boardman.
Dr. Kooshkabadi was arraigned Tuesday in county court in Canfield on two counts of aggravated menacing and 1 count of violating a protective order.
The judge set his bond at $50,000 as he awaits another hearing set for Thursday in a Boardman courtroom.
According to court documents, Boardman Police charged Kooshkabadi with making terroristic threats on April 2 as well.
Neither police nor prosecutors have complied with 21 News’ requests for reports on either incident, citing an exemption in public records law that says releasing the reports would violate another "state or federal law."
Responding to a 21 News request for information about the doctor’s status, Mercy Health issued the following statement: “As of Friday, April 1, Dr. Kooshkabadi is no longer employed by Mercy Health.”
The next hearing for Dr. Kooshkabadi in Canfield Court is scheduled for Friday.
