BOARDMAN, Ohio - A former Mercy Health doctor has pled "not guilty" to terrorist threat charges in court on Thursday.

Ali Kooshkabadi appeared for a video arraignment at 4 p.m. in front of Judge Joseph Houser.

Dr. Kooshkabadi faces charges stemming from two incidents in Canfield and Boardman that occurred on April 2, 2022.

According to court documents, Boardman Police charged Kooshkabadi with making terroristic threats.

Neither police nor prosecutors have complied with 21 News’ requests for reports on either incident, citing an exemption in public records law that says releasing the reports would violate another "state or federal law."

Responding to a 21 News request for information about the doctor’s status, Mercy Health issued the following statement: “As of Friday, April 1, Dr. Kooshkabadi is no longer employed by Mercy Health.”

Kooshkabadi must pay 10% of his $50,000 bond. He is also ordered to stay away from Fin Feather and Fur stores.

A pretrial hearing for Dr. Kooshkabadi is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. in Canfield.
