Giannios makes Easter holiday more sweet with half price sale

The pandemic got in the way of a Valley tradition at Giannio's Candy Company.
But now it's back just like so many remember.
The line of people wrapped around the store say the half price sale couldn't come at a better time - with the costs of food and gas so high.
At Giannio's Candy in Struthers the store was packed as the company hosted its yearly half-off Easter candy sale.
The store couldn't hold the sale the past two years due to the pandemic.
"This year it feels really great, everyone has come back. Word got out real quick," Owner John Giannio said.
"This is an annual tradition for me, and I really enjoy coming here. I think it's really nice for the Giannio family to give back to the community, but I missed it the last couple of years so I'm back," said Phillip Nunes.
For George Jinnard Sr., shopping with his daughter beings back wonderful memories of shopping here with his wife.
"It's great, absolutely great. We've been doing this since my daughter was real young. My wife used to have me come up here probably 25 years ago, if not more. I will continue to come here as long as I am in good health," Jinnard, Sr. said.
Families WFMJ news talked with say with high prices for gas, food, and everything else, Giannios chocolate sale is a blessing.
Some were heading home to get baskets to their children as soon as possible.
"People appreciate the half price especially on Easter Sunday. We will be selling it through the week because of Orthodox Easter is the following Sunday, added Giannio.
