Former Howland running back De'Veon Smith days with the Pittsburgh Maulers are over.

In a video posted to twitter, Smith is being told he's cut from the team after showing disrespect after requesting pizza instead of chicken salad at the team hotel.

The video came from a documentary, "United By Football: A Season in the USFL" which takes a look at the USFL's return.

21 Sports caught up with Smith who said he did nothing wrong.

"There was nothing disrespectful said," Smith recalled after release several weeks ago.  He was with the Maulers for less than a week.

Smith wouldn't reveal who the person was only to say it was a male from the USFL.

'I didn't say anything wrong to him. Coach said I broke a rule, which I know I didn't break a rule, and who knows what the guy said to my coach."

Smith  said he never saw or met the man in question and even after the incident emailed him and wanted to know what he said, but the man  never go back to him.  Smith said he tried to talk to him person, but the person walked away.

Since this happened several weeks ago Smith admitted it was tough to tell his family the news of his release until the video surfaced today.

"They didn't believe me until the saw the video, " Smith said.

Smith says he wants to try and play with another team, but added he has 15 month old twins at home which will keep him busy for the immediate future.
