NILES, Ohio - Planet Fitness announced on Tuesday the grand opening of its new Niles club at 905, Great East Plaza Rd.

New members can join for $1 down followed by $10 per month, or $1 down and $22.99 per month for a Planet Fitness Black Card until Monday, May 2.

The Black Card includes additional amenities such as the ability to bring a guest each day with no extra charge, as well as access to every Planet Fitness location in the country.

On May 2, Planet Fitness will celebrate the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:00 p.m. Attendees will get a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card, a free one-year Black Card membership, a YETI and much more.

In addition, attendees can enjoy pizza courtesy of a local member.

Following the ceremony, the gym will host its first Member Appreciation Week from May 2 through 6, where members can enjoy a variety of giveaways, raffle prizes and free amenities.

These include free pizza for members starting at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, use of the HydroMassage Loungers and massage chairs for all members on Tuesday, free prizes for completing a 5k on one of the gym's cardio machines on Wednesday, a thank-you gift when guests check in on Thursday and a free workout with a friend for all members on Friday.
