Valley breweries, bars, and bands are putting on an event Thursday to raise funds for the people of war-torn Ukraine.

The “United for Ukraine Rock n’ Raffle” will run from 4 p.m. until midnight Thursday, April 21 at Westside Bowl, Mahoning Avenue, on Youngstown’s West Side.

Seventeen bands will be featured along with a Chinese auction of items donated by local artists, breweries, and vendors.

The bands are donating their time and performing for free, allowing 100% of event ticket sales to be donated to three charity organizations helping Ukraine: World Central Kitchen, The United Help Ukraine, and Army SOS.

Westside bowl donated their space for the event on both their main stage, their Trophy Room stage, and patio space for bands to play.

The effort has been organized by local artist Royce Umberger, as well as musicians Nate Chizmar, and Pat Majernik.

In addition, Birdfish Brewing Company, Noble Creature Cask House, and Modern Methods breweries have collaborated to create a special beer to aid the fundraising effort.

Yarian Quality Malts donated malt for the beer to help cover ingredient costs. 100% of proceeds from beer sales during the event, as well as what is sold on tap at each brewery, will be donated.

Tickets to the event are $10 a person for entry, with all ticket sales donated. Raffle tickets can be purchased with cash at the event.

The music schedule and online ticket link can be found on the Facebook event on Westside Bowl's Facebook page.
