HUBBARD, Ohio - Two students from Hubbard High School recently returned home after completing two separate mission trips to Central America.

One student, freshman Chase Roy took a trip to Honduras, marking the second time he's taken a mission trip. Both time's Roy partnered with Fishhawk Rotary in Florida, where his grandfather is a member.

Roy worked alongside Honduras Compassion Partners to install water filters, large tubs to hold water and community bathrooms, as well as helping to build a house and two libraries and celebrating the opening of a school.

"This trip was really life changing. You start to see everything differently. It's cold to see how other people live and to be able to help them out," Roy said.

Meanwhile, senior Kennedy Evans made a trip with Victory Christian Center in Coitsville to El Salvador, working alongside members of King's Castle Ministries as part of there evangelism team to take different ministry programs to the streets and to schools.

This was Evans's first mission trip, and she's already got her second one planned. In July, Evans will move to Africa to attend the SOS Mission Bible School to follow her dreams of becoming a missionary.

"The trip was the most humbling experience, and somewhat of a culture shock. In America, it's not uncommon to hear kids complaining about going to school. When I was in El Salvador, some of the kids walked seven miles to attend school," Evans said.
