If you see a long bus with pictures of food on its side driving around Mahoning County, then you'd be on the same roadway as a new and innovative program addressing food deserts.

The 28 foot refrigerated-produce-shop-on-wheels known as the Mahoning Valley Mobile Market will travel around Youngstown and Mahoning County later this week. And, anyone can check it out, too. It's handicap accessible and the public will be able to shop in its 20 foot collection of double shelved produce.

It took four years of planning and work by Rose Carter with the Action and Flying High Incorporated to make this program happen.

Patrons can pay with SNAP, WIC, Double Up, Senior Produce Perks, along with credit and debit cards.
