YOUNGSTOWN - Jury selection began Monday in the murder trial of a suspect accused in a deadly shooting at a Youngstown social club shooting,

Robert Shelton, 46, is charged with aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, and a weapons violation in connection with the February 2020 shooting death of 34-year-old Dymond Dorell Ortello outside the Brothers of Power Classic Cars Club.

Two others died in that shooting. Investigators say 37-year-old Charles Pullen and 31-year-old Daniel Marcus Ortello, Jr., the brother of Dymond, exchanged gunfire inside the bar and died as a result.

Shelton has a criminal past dating back to the 90s.

According to Mahoning County Court records, in 1998, Shelton pleaded guilty to a charge of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

In 2000, Shelton was found guilty of resisting arrest in Boardman

In 2006, Shelton was convicted of possession of cocaine.
