The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County is partnering with the Buhl Regional Health Foundation and Buhl Park for a new project - The Healthy Community Collaborative.

The project has been in the works since February after a meeting to create initiatives to impact the health of the community.

The Healthy Community Collaborative is starting The Health Hut @ the Cabin Cafe, a new program that will provide access to fresh whole foods, nutrition education and healthy recipes to the community.

The Health Hut will be held on Wednesdays during the Buhl Park summer concert series with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables available for free.

"The Community Food Warehouse is honored to partner with Buhl Park and BRHF to introduce the Healthy Community Collaborative (HCC) this summer," said Rebecca Page, executive director, CFWMC. "We are excited to introduce the Health Hut at the Cabin Café on Wednesdays during the summer concert series, which will provide a free healthy snack option for our friends and neighbors."

Anyone with questions about the project can call the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County at 724-981-0353.
