The NAACP of Mahoning County and Youngstown will be hosting a community resource fair Saturday, May 7 at the Wick Park Pavilion.

The event, titled "Unifying Our Community - Building Strong Connections One Business at a Time" will begin at 11 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m.

This is the third resource fair given by the Youngstown and Mahoning County NAACP this year.

"We want to bring residents together with local area businesses and allow residents to talk to various social services agencies without going to their offices," says education and justice committee chairwoman Darla Brown-Dunlap

"We want to get social service agencies in front of people. Too often people are stigmatized about going to agency offices," Brown-Dunlap said.

Local vendors and community resources will be available to local residents to help build a stronger support network and to create awareness of the disconnection between qualified professionals and the residents in need of their services.

All participants will be listed in the NAACP Youngstown Online Community Resource Directory.
