Fuda much more optimistic about Sanitary Sewer Project after Thursday meeting

WARREN, Ohio - Trumbull County Commissioner, Frank Fuda is much more optimistic about the Meadowbrook Sanitary Sewer Project after a meeting held Thursday morning.
Commissioner Fuda was joined by the County Metro Parks Board Director, Zack Svette, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA), County Sanitary Engineer, Gary Newbrough, County Health Commissioner, Frank Migliozzi, Eastgate Regional Council and Warren Township Trustees to discuss the project.
Fuda tells 21 News that everyone at the meeting is on board with the three-phase project.
Back in March, concerns were raised when county officials learned that the project was coinciding with the removal of the Leavittsburg Dam with officials stating that if the project isn't completed in time, the sewage problem would find its way to the dry ground.
However, Fuda tells 21 News that the dam removal project would not be completed as soon as previously expected and says the sewer project should be completed by the time the dam is to be removed.
Even if it isn't completed on time, Fuda tells us that that the county has an agreement with the OEPA that a line will be built to prevent the sewage from ending up on dry ground.
Despite the optimism, Fuda tells us that the county has run into a new issue Thursday with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) raising some concerns about the project.
Fuda says he does not know the exact details of FEMA's concerns, but the county will be looking into how to handle the situation.
