YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - One inmate and three staff members were hospitalized after a fire at CoreCivic's Northeast Ohio correctional facility in Youngstown.

The fire occurred around 4:00 Saturday afternoon in an area that houses Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) inmates. An emergency was called prompting notifications to all staff, as well as the Youngstown Fire Department.

One inmate and three staff members were taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation stemming from possible smoke inhalation. No other injuries or structural damages were reported.

The incident is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
