AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - An Austintown woman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman along with endangering her five-year-old son.

Police responded to a call Sunday evening to a home on Parkgate Avenue in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, officers advised that the suspect, identified as Joleisha Rivera had assaulted the female victim and observed Rivera attempting to go after her again.

Officers spoke to Rivera's ex boyfriend, who is the father of the child. He told police that the female victim is his new girlfriend.

Police were also told that Rivera allegedly had her son in her arms and when she saw the female victim she threw him to the ground to go after her. Police observed a cut on the boy's left knee that was actively bleeding.

Police say Rivera punched the female victim in the face while pulling on her hair. Officers observed a cut on the female victim's right cheek. Rivera's ex boyfriend was also reportedly assaulted when trying to stop her.

Rivera is charged with Domestic Violence, Assault and Endangering Children.

Custody of Rivera's son was given to her sister in Liberty Township, as her ex boyfriend does not have rights to the child.
