LISBON, Ohio -  Sentencing is scheduled for Monday for a Columbiana County man who pleaded guilty to murdering a Homeworth man last year.

In addition to pleading guilty to one count of murder with a firearms specification, 43-year-old Gary Joiner also pleaded guilty on Monday to having a weapon under a disability.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Weikart says he is recommending a sentence of life in prison with no eligibility for parole for 21 years.

Joiner was arrested after the March 29, 2021 shooting death of Ryan Virden at a home on Homeworth Road.
