Campbell, Wellsville schools receive security grants.

Multiple Schools in Campbell and Wellsville are among nearly 100 Ohio schools who received a total of $4.8 million in grants from Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine to help improve school security.
Daw Elementary School, as well as Garfield Elementary School in Wellsville, along with Campbell Elementary School and Northeast Ohio Impact Academy in Campbell received funding.
Campbell Local Schools Superintendent Matthew Bowen tells 21 News a great chunk of the money awarded was to reimburse the costs of security upgrades already implemented within the district such as door controls.
In terms of new upgrades, Bowen tells us the schools are getting additional video surveillance equipment, as well as additional server space in order to add those new cameras into the network.
While both Campbell Elementary and NEO Impact Academy have resource officers, functioning PA systems and surveillance cameras already, these new upgrades will further increase video coverage and monitoring capabilities to ensure students, teachers, staff and visitors are able to enter, occupy and exit the buildings safely.
"We can never be too safe. Our ongoing efforts to improve District safety is a top priority and our obligation to the students and families we serve," Bowen said.
Campbell Elementary received $99.617 and NEO Impact Academy received $24,916.72. In Wellsville, Daw Elementary received $60,331.08 and Wellsville High received $87,022.51.
