Sharon Regional recognized for heart attack treatment

SHARON, Pa. - Sharon Regional Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology's NCDR Chest Pain MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2022.
The hospital is one of just 240 hospitals nationwide to receive this award.
The NCDR Chest Pain MI Registry award recognizes the hospital's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that it has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to the standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association's recommendations.
Some of the performance measures that at evaluated for the award include times at the hospital reacting to the heart events.
Sharon Regional has demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain MI Registry for two years in a row and performed the highest level for specific performance measures.
"The receipt of this award indicates that Sharon Regional remains committed to providing top quality, guideline-driven care for heart attack patients. Their success ensures patients are receiving the highest quality cardiovascular care," said NCDR Chest Pain - MI Registry Steering Subcommittee Chair, Dr. Michael Kontos.
