Warren Police: Man allegedly assaulted with rake after stepping in on fight

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man was reportedly assaulted with a rake after allegedly trying to break up a fight between a man and his ex-girlfriend.
Warren Police say they were called to a home on Merryweather Street NW in reference to two men fighting with a rake and knife respectively.
Upon arrival police spoke with a male victim who said he witnessed the male suspect attempting to assault a woman, who was later identified as the suspect's ex-girlfriend with a rake.
The male victim told police that he confronted the suspect, who allegedly proceeded to hit him in the hand with the rake. Police say the victim then pulled out a knife and the two continued to fight until the suspect got into his vehicle and fled the scene.
Police then spoke with the suspect's ex-girlfriend who told officers the suspect, who resides in Cleveland came over to her house. The female victim told police everything was ok until the suspect began looking through her phone and found she was talking to someone else.
It was then that the suspect allegedly took the female victim's shoes and clothes and began putting them in his car. Police say when she tried to reclaim these items, the suspect looked like he was about to hit her.
The suspect then allegedly grabbed the rake and began hitting the female victim's car with it breaking one of the windows. It was then the male victim allegedly got involved.
No arrests were made at the scene and there are no reported injuries.
