3 catalytic converters stolen from work trucks at Henry Stambaugh Golf Course

Three catalytic converters were stolen from work trucks at Henry Stambaugh Golf Course located at 202 Gypsy Lane in Youngstown recently.
After arriving at work at 7 a.m. on May 26, Youngstown Parks Department Supervisor Dave Sturtz observed the theft and reported it to the Youngstown Police Department at 7:50 a.m. Sturtz said the vehicles were parked in the back of the parking lot and secured May 25 at 7:30 p.m.
The two 2012 Ford Dump Trucks and one 2005 Ford F150 affected were work trucks for the golf course, and are classified as U.S. government vehicles.
According to the report, there are no suspects at this time. However, Sturtz will be looking over security camera footage and will follow up with YPD's Detective Division.
Catalytic converters are a section of the "exhaust system designed to reduce emissions" that contain the rare precious metals platinum, palladium and rhodium, according to an article on J.D. Power's website. Catalytic converters cost an average of $800 to $1,200.
