Gun fire in the city of Warren has kept officers busy the past few days.

Recent police reports show at least three homes have been hit by bullets, and even a dog took a shot to the leg.

On Friday, May 27th, police were called out to two homes in the 700 block of Packard St. NW. One home was struck by six bullets. The other house was struck by two. It's not clear when the homes were hit.

Then following day, a man on Federal St. NW, told police his dog had been shot. According to a police report, the dog had an obvious wound in the front leg area. The owner told police, the dog was taken to the vet to be x-rayed, and the vet found a small caliber projectile.

On Sunday, May 29th, police were again dispatched due to a report of about six shots being fired. While police were checking the area of Southwest Blvd, they were called to a home in the 1700 block of Ferndale SW where a home was hit by about four bullets. No one was injured, but the police report says a small child was inside the home at the time.

A few streets over, police noted about ten 9 mm shell casings had been found in the roadway near the intersection of 6th Street and Deerfield Ave.

This comes just two weeks after Warren city leaders detailed a plan to help curb the violence in the city. That plan includes two areas: one fucusing on a stepped up law enforcement response, and the other a faith and community-based response.

The call for action came after mounting concern over gun violence in the city. Most of the gun violence shares a common theme, the victims are all teens, with the exception of a 61 year-old.
