Witmer's Feed and Grain acquired by Heritage Cooperative

COLUMBIANA, Ohio - If you ever travel State Route 11 in southern Mahoning County, you can’t miss the imposing metal towers of Witmer’s Feed and Grain rising above the side of the highway.
Since 1978, the family-owned business has been delivering feed from its state-of-the-art facility on Renkenberger Road which has the capacity to store 2.3 million bushels of grain and manufactures about 100,000 tons of feed a year.
Company President Mike Witmer has announced that Heritage Cooperative Incorporated has agreed to purchase the feed, grain, agronomy, and retail assets of Witmer's Feed and Grain.
The deal includes Millstone Farm and Garden and the Witmer Feed, Edge, and Show It Feed brands sold throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Maryland.
With locations in Columbiana and Garfield, Ohio, and Berlin, Pennsylvania, Witmer produces feeds, fertilizers, and crop seeds.
In a message to customers, Mike Witmer says he believes the acquisition by the Ohio-based Heritage Cooperative is the best long-term solution for Witmer’s customers and employees.

The acquisition is expected to be finalized at the end of June.
