Youngstown is still reeling from its latest murder Wednesday night.
16 year old Isiah Walker died after being shot playing basketball at Homestead Park on the south side.

Rev. Kenneth Simon, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church, says progress to stop violence in the city might come slowly at first, but the more people get involved, the more that message of changing the culture of violence will spread.

He talked to 21 News about who he especially hopes will hear that message.

"We have to get to the parents and we have to give them the resources they need," he said. "Some parents try...they work, who are doing the best they can and even with their best efforts, their kids still end up in that culture."

Rev. Simon, along with the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Baptist Pastors Council, ACTION, Mahoning Valley Association of Churches and the Community Mobilization Coalition are hosting a parade and prayer walk.

Sunday, June 5 at 1:30pm, they'll meet at Market St. and Avondale Ave., then walk through nearby neighborhoods in prayer.
