Grand Jury indicts Liberty Township shooting suspect with 5 felony charges
The indictment stems from a June 10 incident where the suspect allegedly shot 20-year-old Zach Woods on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township, and in a shoot-out with police.

55-year-old Kevin Mallard of Youngstown has been indicted by the Grand Jury of Trumbull County on five felony counts, including attempted aggravated murder with a firearm specification; attempted murder with a firearm specification; inducing panic with a firearm specification; improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, and carrying concealed weapons.
The indictment stems from a June 10 incident where the suspect allegedly shot 20-year-old Zach Woods on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township, and in a shoot-out with police.
Mallard was arraigned during a preliminary hearing in Girard Municipal Court last week in Judge Jeffrey D. Adler's courtroom, where the defendant was advised of his rights.
Mallard was ordered held without bond. Mallard will be arraigned in Judge Ronald Rice's court in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday, June 28 at 1:30 p.m.
