The Columbiana County Sheriff says a suspect has been charged with the murder of a Hanover Township woman.

Justin Givens, 27, of Washington Township, is accused of killing 67-year-old Mary Ann McGuire.

The Salineville man was indicted by a Columbiana County Grand Jury on charges that include aggravated murder, murder, firearm specifications, grand theft of a firearm, tampering with evidence, endangering children, and aggravated possession of drugs.

McGuire's body was found at her Depot Road home in March.  Deputies searched Givens' home on Route 644 shortly afterward. According to the Columbiana County coroner, McGuire died from a gunshot wound to her body and extremities.

Givens has been held in the county jail on a $1 million bond since March when he was arrested for having weapons under disability and attempted escape. Givens, the boyfriend of McGuire's stepdaugther Alyssa McGuire, has a status conference scheduled set in Judge Scott Washham's courtroom on Aug. 26.

Both Givens and McGuire face charges of obstruction of justice, endangering children and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. Givens is scheduled for a jury trial in Judge Megan Bickerton's courtroom on Aug. 30 at 9 a.m., while McGuire is scheduled for a jury trial Aug. 23 in Bickerton's court at 9 a.m.
