Second half real estate tax bills have been mailed, payment deadline is August 5

Mahoning County Treasurer Dan Yemma has announced on Monday that property owners have been receiving their first half real estate tax bills in the mail for approximately 166,000 parcels.
The deadline to pay without penalty is Friday, August 5. Property owners who do not receive their statements by July 22 should call the treasurer's office to confirm payment amounts or request copies of bills.
Yemma says the treasurer's office is working on a feature allowing taxpayers to view their bill online and plan to have it functioning soon. Final bill for taxpayers on the Tax Installment Program have also been mailed.
Options for paying taxes online have been greatly expanded, now including the ability to pay via Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal and Venmo in addition to credit cards and electronic checks. This can be done online, as well as by text or phone.
In addition, taxpayers have the ability to schedule and set up automatic payments. There are transaction fees charged by the treasurer's office's third party vendor.
You can also submit payments via mail. Mail payments should be sent to the Treasurer's Office Attn: Daniel R. Yemma at 120 Market Street in Youngstown. All payments postmarked on or before August 5 will be processed as on time payments.
The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for taxpayers who wish to pay in person.
