John Dyce running for State Representative

The August 2nd primary is just 20 days away, and one of the races heating up in Mahoning and Columbiana County, is representative for the 59th Ohio House District.
One of four democrats vying for the seat in Columbus, is valley native, and retired mailman John Dyce.
"We seem to elect people who soon forget, or don't know what it's like to be a worker and get laid off.", said Dyce. The ultimate reason why John Dyce, a retired mailman is battling three other democrats to represent the Ohio House's 59th District. He also has is sights set on bringing jobs to the buckeye state, and tending to the elderly here in the valley.
"Retirees, we have to make sure they're able to stay in their homes, get the healthcare that they need and continue to enjoy their retirement.", the democratic candidate explained.
John is well aware of the big issues on Capitol Hill such as reproductive rights, that are already having impact here. He says he's not for abortion, but says it shouldn't be his decision to make.
"I don't feel it's my right to determine what a woman should do...that's between her and her family physician.", Dyce added.
When it comes to issues pertaining to what is taught in classrooms...Dyce says while not all of it is pretty, it's imperative for student's to learn about the country's history.
"I think the only way to improve the future history of the United States is teaching our past history, so we do not repeat those mistakes.", he said
Following a series of mass shootings, including the tragedy at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, gun reform has been an ongoing conversation, here is Dyce's stance on gun reform.
"I think the no-brainers are the gun-show loopholes, and I think we should look at how personal sales transactions are being handled.", Dyce concluded.
