Some Valley residents were left to clean up Thursday morning after a storm hit the Valley late Wednesday evening.

Residents in the Mineral Ridge area were busy cutting up downed trees and storm debris after strong winds ripped through the area, overturning basketball hoops and blowing trash cans around.

Around 5,000 residents of Trumbull County and nearly 3,000 in Mahoning County lost power during the storms, but power was quickly restored to most within an hour from the time the storm hit.

Chances for rain are low until Sunday evening. You can keep up with the latest weather trends on WFMJ.com or download the WFMJ Weather app for Apple or other devices.
