St. Elizabeth Boardman celebrates 15-year anniversary

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Mercy Health's St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital reached a milestone Tuesday.
The Boardman hospital opened its doors in 2007, almost 100 years after St. Elizabeth Youngstown started taking care of patients in the city.
Since 2007, the hospital has undergone a few changes.
St. E's Boardman achieved magnet status in nursing in 2011 and underwent a 165,000 square foot expansion in 2012, adding a seven-story inpatient bed tower.
In 2014, labor and delivery were relocated to Boardman and now more than 3,500 babies are delivered there each year. Medical oncology and infusion services were opened in 2021.
A Robotics program for general and gynecological surgical procedures began in 2017 with more than 750 procedures being done annually.
"We take great pride in having served our community for more than 100 years, including 15 at our location in Boardman. Healthcare is truly a calling and what makes it even more special to our teams is that we are able to provide care to those in the communities where we live and raise our families," said Genie Aubel, president, of Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. "I am so proud of each and every one of our team members for their tireless efforts in serving the health and well-being needs of our patients and our community."
