Dock diving, maneuvers, retrieving, part of 4-day dog show at Canfield Fairgrounds
If you love puppies of all ages and sizes, then you’ll want to stop at the Canfield Fairgrounds sometime over the next four days.
The Steel Valley Cluster Dog Show opens at the fairgrounds along Route 46 on Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
Organized by the Fort Steuben Kennel Association, Columbiana County Kennel Club, Beaver County Kennel Club, and Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club, the show brings dog lovers and thousands of dogs together.
Every day will feature the judging of various dog breeds, obedience trials, and dock diving, as pooches plunge into a tank of water to see how far they can jump.
Rally trials will challenge dogs to test their ability to follow commands, maneuver hurdles, and retrieve articles.
You can watch the Steel City Disc Dogs take on the UpDog Challenge with Disc Dog.
Owner-handlers will compete in a special series called the National Owner-Handled Series.
Puppies will get started in the sport in the AKC Sanctioned 4 and under 6 Months Puppy Competition.
Admission is free. There is a $5 parking fee.
