Over a million DeWALT miter saws have been recalled due to the potential for injuries.

DeWALT says the plastic rear guard assembly can break or shatter when struck, exposing the saw blade and posing a safety risk.

The affected "12-inch Sliding Compound" saw models are yellow and black, and were manufactured between April 2019 and May 2022. The model numbers include the following:

If you use one of these saws, DeWALT asks that you stop use immediately and contact the company by clicking here to fill out a repair kit request form, or by calling 1-800-990-6421 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.

Prior to the recall, DeWALT received 571 reports of the rear safety guard assembly or other components breaking. That includes 9 reports of injuries.

The DeWALT 12-inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw was sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, and other hardware stores nationwide, as well as Amazon.com and other websites for between $600 and $820.
