Braceville Trustees approve Eagle Scout's plan to create new dog park

BRACEVILLE TWP., Ohio - Braceville Township Trustees approved plans for a dog park Tuesday, an idea sparked by a local girl for her Eagle Scout project.
Maelynn Jaros is an upcoming freshman at the Trumbull County Technical Center and thought of the idea after realizing there aren't any dog parks in the area people can go to.
The proposed park would be located behind the police and fire departments on Newton Falls Braceville Road, near the playground and cemetery.
"I can go run, and we can bring our dog here too," said Maelynn. "My brother goes on the playground and just swings and does his stuff so we can all be there as a family."
Maelynn has to get permission next from the Scout Council to officially approve her idea. If approved, she can start fundraising, which she expects to do in September.
If that goes to plan, the park will hopefully be constructed next summer.
