Struthers receives grant from ODOT for Active Transportation Plan

STRUTHERS, Ohio - The City of Struthers is getting money from the Ohio Department of Transportation in hopes of finishing its Active Transportation Plan (ATP).
ODOT selected Struthers to receive a technical assistance grant to complete the ATP project.
The project maps out a plan for advancing bicycle and pedestrian priorities that are important to the community and set the stage for implementation.
The grant is valued between $70,000 and $80,000, with Struthers being one of only six local governments awarded throughout the state.
Struthers was also the only community to receive a grant in ODOT District 4, which covers Ashtabula, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Trumbull counties.
The ATP is a step forward toward adopting the city's first comprehensive plan, "Discover Struthers."
"We are looking forward to working with ODOT, and we're delighted to have the State's support in building upon our City's first comprehensive plan, to create an even more effective product," Mayor Cercone-Miller said.
