WARREN, Ohio -  A Hubbard woman who pleaded guilty to charges filed in connection with the death of her partner has been sentenced to up to three years in prison.

Twenty-seven-year-old Alexandria Morales appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday and was handed a sentence of two to three years behind bars.

In May, Morales entered guilty pleas to charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence.

Liberty Police say alcohol was a factor when Morales ran over 35-year-old Amanda Markowitz, killing her outside a home on Sampson Drive last August.

Markowitz, who shared a home with Morales, had been at a friend's home before the fatal incident.

In addition to the prison sentence, Morales had her driver's license suspended for life and will be on probation for up to two years.
