Warren man accused of threatening male at gunpoint while riding on rental truck
A Warren man is in jail after allegedly jumping on the side of a rental truck and threatening a male at gunpoint.
Police were dispatched to Quinby Park on Austin Avenue in Warren late Wednesday morning about a male being chased at gunpoint.
The call was traced to Tod Avenue near Union Street, where police were quickly pointed to a male suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Damien Stanley, who police say was riding on the side steps of a rental truck.
Police say Stanley was visibly under the influence of narcotics. He was placed in handcuffs without incident.
Police say they were also informed of a crash that took place earlier in the day due to Stanley allegedly jumping on the hood of a separate vehicle and allegedly attempting to pull a female driver out of the vehicle while threatening to harm her until her husband drove his truck into the vehicle.
Police say Stanley then went to the rental truck and jumped on the side of it, and rode there until officers arrived at the scene.
Stanley was taken to Saint Joe's for medical treatment and was taken to the Trumbull County Jail, where he was booked the following evening.
Stanley is facing one charge of Robbery.
