A lucky dog has become the Mahoning County Dog Pound’s former resident with the longest stay.

The county dog warden reported on Facebook that Miss Annie, who has been at the kennel since January 25th when she was found wandering on Salt Springs Road, has been adopted.

Miss Annie went to a new forever home this week.

The staff at the dog warden’s office seemed pretty happy too:

Over 7 months living in a kennel. Over 7 months waiting her turn to go out to potty, to go for a walk, to get some one-on-one time. She waited and waited and waited. She loved to hang out in the quiet of our laundry room. She loved to cuddle and just be with people.

The dog warden also received some very special deliveries this week.

Twenty-six boxes of animal goodies from pet supplier Chewy were delivered as well as necessities such as food and laundry soap were dropped off by visitors.

Friends of Fido has a wish list for those who want to donate pet goods for the 71 dogs at the pound which is very low on Pedigree Chicken and Vegetable dog food.

Dogs on the adoption floor and in intake eat this so that they can have a consistent diet and less of a chance of stomach troubles.

The staff adds Pedigree canned food and canned pumpkin as an added treat.
