YOUNGSTOWN - Some roads in Mill Creek Park will be closed on Saturday as the Youngstown YMCA wraps up this year’s Community Cup events.

The Community Cup returned this summer after a two-year break following the pandemic, consisting of fourteen team-oriented events.

Park officials have announced that the following MetroParks roads will be closed to vehicular traffic as well as cyclists and pedestrians from approximately 7:00 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, September 10, 2022:

  • Bears Den Drive
  • Cross Drive
  • New Cross Drive
  • West Park Drive (W. West Drive)
  • West Drive
  • Slippery Rock Bridge
  • West Glacier Drive

The Community Cup is a corporate athletic challenge in which area organizations compete in a series of athletic events during the summer months.

Sat. Sept. 10 schedule:

  •  10K Relay 9:00 am Morley Pavilion
  • Time Prediction Walk 10:30 am Morley Pavilion
  • Obstacle Course 12:30 pm Wick Recreation Area
  • Tug-O-War 2:00 pm Wick Recreation Area

The Community Cup emphasizes the importance of fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and cooperation to thousands of employees of area businesses and organizations.
