81-year-old charged with stalking 15-year-old girl in Warren

An 81-year-old man has been charged with menacing by stalking in Warren after a girl told police told her to get into his car.
According to the police report, a 15-year-old girl left Rivergate School on Franklin Street in Warren Tuesday afternoon, when a white Ford Mustang being driven by a man began following the teen.
Once the girl reached a business on Elm Road where she was going to meet her mother, the man began telling the girl to get into his car, according to the report.
The girl told police she began yelling at the man to leave her alone, and a woman in the business parking lot came to the girl's aid and yelled and both the girl and the witness were able to get pictures on the phones of the suspect.
David Hines was arrested and charged with menacing, a 4th-degree misdemeanor. Hines pled not guilty to the charges and was arraigned in Judge Terry Ivanchak's court on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 9:00 a.m.
According to court records, Hines's driver's license will be suspended while this case is being litigated.
The maximum sentence for a 4th-degree misdemeanor is a jail sentence of 30 days and a fine of no more than $250.
