The Youngstown State University football team dropped their first game of the season to ninth ranked Kentucky, 31-0.

The Penguins defense forced three turnovers and had 10 tackles for a loss. Troy Jakubec and Quincy Lenton each had interceptions for YSU.

On offense, quarterback Demetriac Crenshaw was 7-for-21 for 120 yards, while Kentucky QB Will Levis threw for 377 yards and two touchdowns.

YSU goes into their bye week with a 2-1 record. The Penguins begin play in the Missouri Valley Football Conference on Oct. 1 against North Dakota State.
